Finally, one of my own quilts using Moda Glamping material, quilting pattern Sundance and quilting design by Nancy Haacke at digitized quilting patterns.com  I love this little quilt, wish I had one of those cute little campers.  There are some great ideas on Pinterest of Glamped trailers.  Oh well I'm just happy to have my quilt sewn, quilted and binding put on all within six weeks of purchasing  the fabric.  Which is really a first for me since I know I have some fabric in my stash which could possible be considered "vintage".

Happy, happy Thursday from sunny, hot and beautiful Monticello, Indiana, USA. We've been busy watching our grandchildren Audrey Kate and Jacob at the White County Fair this week.  The kids showed five pigs and placed with one fifth place, one fourth, one third and two first places in their weight classes.  We were happy with their showing when you consider White county has numerous large hog farm operations whose children are competing in the same classes.  Makes me wonder why there isn't a "professional category" for those groups and let us little guys have our own category.  In other words its like David and Goliath.

I have quilted three quilts this week in between fair time.  I even floated on my floaty chair in Lake Freeman yesterday.  I did feel guilty taking 45 minutes out of my quilting schedule just to relax a bit. But I did work until 10:30 last night and I did get the quilt done.  If you want to play, you'll have to pay.

Happy, happy Monday.  I guess it is Monday.  After the July 4th holiday (which was last Thursday) I've had a hard time keeping track of what day it is.  It's also nice not to be hearing firecrackers going off since I've heard them for four nights in a row.  Don't get me wrong I enjoy fireworks, but I don't need to hear them four nights in a row, that is unless I was at Disney World.

I gave myself a treat today by getting a one hour massage.  Lee Anne Akers, Certifed Massage Therapist and  owner of Essential Touch found every tight spot in my body today.  Even in spots I didn't realize were sore. I was amazed at how much easier I could walk after my massage.  Gary even noticed how much happier I was when I got home.  I told him I didn't have any pain in my body and I felt great.  If you are in the West Lafayette, Indiana area Essential Touch is located at 480 W. I was so excited to hear from one of my quilting friends that her sister who had been on a waiting list received a new heart today.  What a blessing for this family.  I am also in prayer for the family who must be grieving at the loss of their loved one.  Please keep these families in your prayers.

Happy July 1st, 2013.  I haven't figured out where the month of June went, but I guess the saying "time stands still for no man" is true.  I always have loved the month of June.  The weather is usually pleasant here in Indiana and June is a time when the perennial flowers are starting to bloom.  June is also the time of year I have a hard time staying focused on staying inside and keeping my quilting schedule in tact. I do keep my schedule because I realize just how much all of my clients look forward to seeing their beautiful quilts quilted.  I am blessed.

Hello from rainy and cloudy but still beautiful Monticello, Indiana, USA.  I must confess the rain and clouds did not bother me today because I spent the day sewing!  I was invited to be on Queen Gayle O's court.  Gayle won the drawing at a Rossville Quilt Shop (www.rossvillequilts.com).  By winning Gayle won a free sew in day for herself and her subjects and a gift certificate.  Rossville Quilts greeted us with smiles, crowns, beaded necklaces and yummy cookies.  I mean who cares if it is raining and cloudy outside when you can spend the day sewing with fellow quilters.  Even though I didn't know some of these ladies for very long we were soon sharing our quilting ideas and quilting tips.

One quilting tip I learned today is that I need to start carrying baby wipes with me when I am sewing.  One of the irons one of the ladies was using left a slight stain on her project.  She quickly wiped the stain with a baby wipe and voila no more stain.  Who knew baby wipes worked so well.  I'm a believer now.

I did finish a quilt top using the Glamping fabric by Moda I purchased last week at the International Quilt show at Rosemont.  The quilt pattern was a quick pattern I purchased from Nancy J's Quilt Shop, Wabash, Indiana.  The pattern is called Sundance at VillaRosaDesigns.com  I liked this pattern because you don't have to cut up material into small pieces.  To me the Glamping fabric just shouldn't be cut up otherwise you would lose the pattern on the fabric.  So the Sundance pattern  was just perfect and it went together quickly.  When I saw the fabric I immediately knew how I would quilt the quilt.   Yes, I know most quilters pick a quilt pattern and material and then decide how they want the quilt quilted.  But since I am a Longarm quilter I find the quilting (stitching) pattern first then find the material to compliment the quilting (stitching) pattern.  And would you believe I have a great quilting (stitching) pattern by Nancy Haacke at digitizedquiltingpatterns.com. The pattern has the little trailers on it just like the ones on the Glamping fabric.  I can hardly wait to quilt this little quilt.

Good morning everyone from beautiful Monticello, Indiana.  The birds have been chirping in harmony this morning.  Each with their own verse but still in harmony.

Today is my 61st birthday and I have to share with you what was in my daily devotion:

Let me help you get through this day.  There are many possible paths to travel between your getting up in the morning and your lying down at night.  Stay alert to the many choices-points along the way, being continually aware of My Presence.  You will get through this day one way or another. One way is to moan and groan, stumbling along with shuffling feet.  This will get you to the end of the day eventually, but there is a better way.  You can choose to walk with Me along the path of Peace, leaning on Me as much as you need.  There will still be difficulties along the way, but you can face them confidently in My strength.  Thank Me for each problem you encounter, and watch to see how I transform trials into blessings.  I Corinthians 10:10; Luke 1:79.   This is from the devotional book Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.  My sweet bible study friend Kristie D.
