Happy, January 28th everyone. What extreme weather we've had the past few days. Rain, sleet, snow, freezing temps and a thunderstorm is scheduled for Tuesday. You just gotta love Indiana in the winter time.
I really have been busy quilting away the last three weeks of the new year. Sorry no pictures but I really was busy working on quilts for Mary, Pam, Joann, Sharon and Jane. I love my job!! I mean how could I not being allowed to work on all of the beautiful quilts. And I have a beauty on my quilting table right now beautifully pieced by Carla done in blue and green batiks. It really is a gorgeous quilt.
I attended the Calico Cut-Ups quilt guild meeting on Monday. The Calico Cut-ups are a quild that meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at the Methodist church on Main Street in beautiful Monticello, Indiana at 9:30 am (est). A very talented group of quilters from beginners to advanced and everything in between. I classify myself as "in-between", although some days I still feel like a beginner. Do you ever feel like a beginner even though you have been quilting for years?
Well it is 2:00 am and I really should get settled in and get some sleep. At least I know in my head how I want to quilt Carla's beautiful quilt when I start working on it in a few hours. Good night all.
Blessings to all.

Happy Thursday everyone. What a beautiful (even if it was cold) day today here in sunny Monticello. It has been a distracting week for me as far as quilting so I plan to be quilting all weekend, but that's okay. I figure any day in January that is sunny with no snow or ice is one day closer to spring. And just a little tidbit to share, did you know we will gain 45 minutes of daylight for the month of January? Yippee, I love more daylight.
Sorry this is so short and no pictures are posted, but I still haven't decided how to post more pictures.
Have a happy Friday everyone.
Blessings to all.

Happy Sunny Tuesday Everyone! I have been trying to decide how to proceed with this blog since I now have to "pay" to post pictures on this blog. I have looked into other possibilities but I think the bottom line is I will have to pay one way or the other. I could start placing advertising on this blog which would help to pay for having the site, but atleast I am learning the ways of big business.
We did have a wonderful time with our family at Christmas. The grandkids were full of energy and excitement. As we said our prayer before our meal on Chrismas Eve we thanked God for all he has done for us and then I said, "Happy Birthday, Jesus" to which Eli our youngest grandchild said, "Happy Birthday, Jesus" with the biggest smile on his face. This was a moment I will treasure and I can still see Eli's smiling face.
I have started back on my quilting schedule and Meg's quilt was my first quilt for 2013. Her quilt is a beautiful citrus color batik quilt which will be mailed shortly to Meg. It felt good to be back at my Gamill working on the beautiful quilts I have been entrusted with.
I will admit I was totally wiped out when I finished quilting in December. One of my resolutions for 2013 is to start taking better care of me i.e. exercise, healthier eating, and consistently take my vitamins. I did enjoy my naps after Christmas, I guess my body needed the extra rest. I will speak to the ladies here that read my blog and remind you to take care of yourselves. During the holidays we think everything has to be perfect and it is great to entertain our families and friends, but don't forget to take care of yourself. The party won't be fun for everyone if you aren't able to attend. I am also making a concerted effort to limit my sugar intake just to see if my body will feel different. Yes, I know very scientific. Ha!
Well I need to get to the post office, run a few errands, and get back home to start quilting my second quilt for the year. Enjoy your day and don't forget to take care of yourself.
Blessings to all.
